From our comfortable and centrally based 3 star hotel in Ambleside, you will paint in several locations in southern and central Lakeland, (with studio facilities at base) these will be chosen by Phil with a view to covering the major aspects of this magical landscape. The rugged mountain views from the Langdale valley, the beautiful reflective peace of Rydal, Windermere or Elterwater as well as the farms and cottages tucked away between the hills or by the rivers and mountain streams that carve out the beauty of the landscape and feed the lakes and tarns we love so much. There will be sightseeing too spectacular views across the Lake District from the major passes — Kirkstone, Hardknott or Winlatter. Towns and villages, each with their own character and charm for you to discover — Hawkshead, Grasmere or Elterwater. Historical aspects too, from Roman forts to bobbin mills.
