10 Day Workshop

Day 1: Pick up at Palermo Punta Raisi airport: Travel to our homebase of Selinunte, where you will have time to relax and freshen up. Informal evening to meet the tutor and the rest of the group, talk about the workshop and what you wish to achieve in the week ahead. Time to relax before our evening meal.
Days 2 & 3: Templtes of Selinunte: After breakfast our tutor talks about some of the techniques you may use during the course of the week and gives a short demonstration. Workshop at the temples. Picnic Lunch. Contimur workshop into afternoon. Evening Dinner.
Day 4: half day at the Temples to complete work: In afternoon we travel to Sciacca where there will be free time for shopping, sight-seeing. Early evening travel to the thermal springs of Aqua Pia followed by meal.
Days 5 & 6: Chiesa Trinita' di Delia: Travel to nearby Castelvetrano for workshop focusing on the 13 th century Arab Byzantine church set in its own peaceful grounds.
Day 7: We travel south west to the salt pans where we have the opportunity to visit and sketch the once active windmills, which in their day were amongst Sicily 's largest producers for export. Short boat trip to the island of Mozia for picnic lunch and visit to the Joseph Whitaker museum. Opportunity to stay and sketch on the island if you wish – those who prefer may return to mainland to continue work on the windmills and salt pans.
Day 8: Excursion: We travel to Trapani where we catch the ferry to the island of Levanzo . * Here you will have the opportunity to visit the Grotta del Genovese (caves) where you will see some Palaeolithic incisions dating from 15000 years BC and some Neolithic charcoal drawings from 18000 years BC, recently discovered by a visiting Tuscan artist. An afternoon of swimming in the crystal clear waters or sketch the tiney hamet of Cala Dogana, the only inhabited part of the island. * Weather and sea conditions permitting, may not be suitable for people who are not steady on their feet.
Days 9 & 10: Working on location in and around the fishing harbour of Sciacca or San Vito Lo Capo. Early evening finish for appraisal of your work with tutor, and feedback of your workshop experience with Tuscany in the frame. Celebratory evening meal.
Day 11: Transfer to Palermo Punta Raisi airport.

7 Day Workshop

Days 1, 2 & 3: Pick up at Pelermo Punta Raisi airport: and the the temples of Selinunte as Days 1, 2 and 3 above.
Day 4: We travel west to the salt pans of Stagnone as Day 7 above
Day 5: Excursion: We travel to Trapani where we catch the ferry to the island of Levanzo as Day 8 above.
Day 6: Workinh on location around the fishing harbour of Sciacca . Early evening travel to the thermal springs of Aqua Pia.
Day 7: Chiesa Trinita' di delia: Travel to nearby Castelvetrano for workshop focusing on the 13 th century Arab Byzantine church set in its own peaceful grounds. Early eveing finish for appraisal of your work with tutor, and feedback of your workshop experience with Tuscany in the Frame. Celebratory evening meal.
Day 8: Transfer to Palermo Punta Raisi airport.

Feel free to use the pools (where available) during breaks and after daily workshops.
If at any time during the workshops you wish to take time out please feel free to do so. All listed excursions are optional (some may prefer to stay at the villa to continue painting)
